nowpunk: everyday adventures

nowpunk is a modern day roleplaying game that uses tarot cards as the central mechanic.  The game is set in our world and is meant for playing through exciting but still grounded stories, such as adventures, heists, romance, and the like. It can also easily be played solo with the aid of an "oracle" idea generator, since the game is very rules light.

How to play: Characters have a handful of strengths and weaknesses that affect the difficulty of tasks. When you attempt something, draw a card from a tarot deck and compare the value against the task's target number. Additionally, the card's suit will also tell you something about how the action played out.

Update Sept 2023: I decided to replace the cover with an image I created myself. I liked the idea, but the cover I originally used didn't sit right with me. I also added a text version of the rulebook for accessibility reasons, and added layers to the PDF (so you can turn on and off the images and background art for easy readying and printing).
